Development of Pillow K.O.
Our objective was to take Punch-Out!!, a classic retro arcade boxing game by Nintendo, and completely reimagine it with an original theme while preserving the core feel of the arcade experience. As the producer, I focused on finding a concept that would resonate with all team members, despite their diverse gaming preferences. I explored several ideas, including sword fighting (which felt too intense for some teammates) and dance battling (which strayed too far from the original arcade game's mechanics).
Then, I landed on the perfect concept: pillow fighting.
The idea maintained the competitive energy of a fighting game while offering a fun, lighthearted take on combat.

We developed a narrative to complement our game:
"An older sister is hosting a slumber party with her friends, making a lot of noise. Her younger sister, struggling to sleep, finally has enough. Determined to put an end to the disturbance, she grabs a pillow and storms into the room, challenging her sister to a pillow fight. With her friends watching, the older sister can’t back down, and so the ultimate sibling showdown begins."
